Vincci Hotels has obtained certification ISO 50001an international standard for Energy management which provides the most solid framework for optimize energy efficiency in organizations, and which complements the other standards and certifications that the hotel chain already has in terms of sustainability.
This new achievement demonstrates the hotel group’s commitment to continuous improvement of energy management and for offering a quality service that is also responsible for caring for the planet. All of its hotels in Spain already have it, taking another step in the strategy of its Ecological Transition Plan.
The director of Quality and Sustainability of Vincci Hotels, César Pérez, considers that this new certification “It is further proof of the sustainable commitment acquired by the chain since its creation and of our constant search for more environmentally friendly measures to provide maximum quality services to our clients.”.
Since the hotel group’s origin in 2001, Vincci Hoteles has made a series of commitments related to respect for the social and environmental environment and has implemented different courses of action included in its Corporate Social Responsibility Master Plan and Transition Plan Ecological.
Among the actions carried out by the hotel group in recent years, the Decarbonization Plan for the reduction of CO2 emissions, the use of 100% green energy in its establishments, its chemical products reduction project, its “Plastic Free” for the elimination of plastics, your waste management and minimization plan, your sustainable mobilityare the plan “Water Km 0”, his program food waste reduction“Zero Waste”, and the creation of his “carbon footprint calculator“, among many others.
All of this has made the group worthy of various credentials such as ISO 14001 certification, for the integration of quality and environmental management in each of its hotels, Travelife and Biosphere certifications in some of its hotels, and it has also received some awards such as the medal for Tourism Merit awarded by the Ministry of Industry in the Sustainability and Quality category.
The hotel chain also collaborates in the development of programs and activities aimed at satisfying the needs of the communities where it operates. The group establishes objectives and goals annually, and regularly collaborates with multiple initiatives included in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy. It thus has an agreement with various organizations such as Aldeas Infantiles, Fundación SEUR, etc., for example. These collaborations are aimed at carrying out social and humanitarian action that allows us to contribute as much as possible to social improvement in our environment.
Given its commitment, Vincci Hoteles publishes a Annual Sustainability Reportaccording to GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards.
