Charkhi Dadri: Mahavir Phogat has made a significant statement regarding former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda’s decision to send Vinesh Phogat to the Rajya Sabha. He claims that during Hooda’s tenure as Chief Minister, he discriminated against his daughters, Geeta and Babita. He argues that Hooda’s current statement regarding Vinesh is simply a political maneuver.
Mahavir Phogat further elaborated, stating that during Hooda’s time as Chief Minister, both Geeta and Babita were eligible for appointment as DSPs according to the sports policy. However, Hooda discriminated and appointed Geeta as Inspector and Babita as Sub-Inspector. This injustice prompted them to file a petition in court. Following the court’s ruling, Geeta was finally appointed as DSP.
He concluded by criticizing Hooda’s sudden interest in sending Vinesh to the Rajya Sabha, considering his silence during his own time as Chief Minister. He views this action as purely political.
It’s worth noting that Hooda previously stated that he lacked the necessary political support in Haryana to send Vinesh to the Rajya Sabha. He also met with shooter Manu Bhaker, who won two Olympic medals, during this interaction.
