Vinicius Jr says La Liga authorities are doing nothing to stop racist abuse

Madrid: Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior has accused the La Liga authorities of not doing anything to prevent racial abuse against players. Yesterday, during the Real Valladolid-Real Madrid match at the Jose Zorilla Stadium, a group of spectators racially abused Vinicius and threw objects in their hands at Vinicius. Its videos were also circulated on social media.

Real won 2-0 at Valladolid’s home ground on Friday. When Vinicius was substituted during the match, a section of the crowd hurled racial abuse at Vinicius and threw objects in his hand at the player.

In a tweet, Vinicius accused the La Liga authorities of not taking any action to stop the racist abuse of Varnaverians entering the stadium even at the match of the biggest club in the world.

Vinicius said in a tweet that no matter how much he is insulted, he will walk with his head held high and will enjoy the victories in Madrid. Vinicius was racially abused by Atletico fans outside the Wanda Metropolitano stadium in September last year before a match against Atletico Madrid.

La Liga authorities have condemned the incident and announced that strong action will be taken. But after Vinicius’s tweet, La Liga president Tebas came out to criticize the player. Tebas Tweetil said that they have been fighting against racial abuse for years and yet such a reaction from Vinicius was unfortunate.
