BOLZANO. Police personnel arrested a 55-year-old woman from Bolzano who had violated the restraining order to approach her mother. On Sunday 14 July, officers from the “Flying” squad, after a call to 112, intervened in via Resia because the woman, despite being the recipient of the precautionary measure ofmoving away from the family home and the prohibition to approach, was in the condominium, where the mother lives.

After stopping the woman, the police officers collected statements from the victim, who recounted how her daughter, shortly before, had shown up at the external door of the building, ringing insistently on her intercom; having received no response, the daughter still found a way to enter and position herself in front of the front door, knocking insistently and causing her mother a serious state of anxiety and fear, so much so that she called the police and remained in telephone contact with the police officers of the Operations Center of the Police Headquarters until their colleagues arrived.

Thus the arrest was triggered for flagrant crime.

“Family abuse, in addition to being a particularly odious form of crime as it is committed against victims who are often unable to defend themselves, represents a serious cultural problem,” highlighted the Police Chief of Bolzano. Paul Sartori -. The State Police represents a fundamental hub of a network composed of Institutions, Local Authorities, Anti-Violence Centers and Volunteer Associations, and has always been at the forefront, also with specific Projects, in indicating paths of awareness and consciousness of the disvalue of what has been committed, as well as with the aim of helping women to defend themselves, to ask for help and to report the violence suffered”.
