jpnn.comSOUTH LAMPUNG – A Bangladeshi citizen named Sattar, was detained by the Class III Non TPI Kalianda Immigration Office, South Lampung, for violating his residence permit in Indonesian territory.

Head of the Immigration Division of the Lampung Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Tato Juliadin Hidayawan, said that his party arrested the foreign national (WNA) in Girikarto Village, Sekampung District, East Lampung Regency.

“The articles that apply to illegal foreigners are Article 119 Paragraph 1 and Article 13 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration with a maximum threat of five years in prison and a maximum fine of IDR 500 million,” he said in Kalianda, Tuesday (19 /3).

According to him, the foreigner was arrested on February 20 2024. After carrying out a series of examinations by asking for information from a number of witnesses, investigators finally detained Sattar on March 19 2024 at the Class IIB Sukadana Detention Center, East Lampung.

He said that previously his party was carrying out routine operations in the area and at the same time received reports from the public about the presence of foreigners.

“We went to the location. When we checked, sure enough, the foreigner in question could not show any valid travel documents or passport or residence permit,” he said.

According to him, the foreigner from Bangladesh did not have a valid residence permit. Sattar entered Indonesia in 2015.

“He entered with his wife from Malaysia. His wife entered Indonesia in accordance with applicable procedures, while Sattar went through the title or mouse route,” he said.

A Bangladeshi citizen named Sattar was detained by the Class III Non TPI Kalianda Immigration Office, South Lampung, for violating his residence permit.
