Violation of securities laws: BSEC warns 9 firms

Capital market regulator Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) warned nine companies in August this year for violating securities laws.

Alerted institutions are listed companies and member brokerage houses. The organization has given strict instructions to these institutions to follow the law properly in future.

The companies warned are – Standard Ceramic Industries Limited, NCCB Securities and Financial Services Limited, Islami Insurance Bangladesh Limited, Sinha Securities Limited, International Leasing Securities Limited, Md. Fakhrul Islam Securities Limited, BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage Limited, Prudential Securities Limited and Prelink Securities Limited.

Among them are the Board of Directors, Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Standard Ceramics; NCCB CEO and Compliance Authority Ahsanul Arefin, Dhanmondi Branch Incharge. Sirajul Islam, Compliance Officer Maqsood Karim Khan and Abu Shahed Mohammad Enayet Karim; Board of Directors, Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Islami Insurance; Sinha Securities TREK Representative Mohammad Mahbubul Alam, Compliance Authority Reza-ur-Rehman Sinha, Elephant Road Branch Former Incharge Kakali Debnath; Chief Executive Officer of International Leasing Securities Mohammad Noore Rabbi, Compliance Officer Nazmus Saqib, Chittagong Branch Incharge Mohammad Noman Siddique and Compliance Officer Mithun Chowdhury; Managing Director of Fakhrul Islam Securities.
