Vienna. In a private children’s group in Floridsdorf, two instructors allegedly locked the children in a dark toilet as punishment, splashed them with water, and even put their heads under the sink and beat them.
The violence inflicted on two children from two different groups during day care came to light when parents noticed the change in their children and talked to the teachers. The victims’ parents reported the situation to MA 11 and it was decided to temporarily suspend the two women. In a statement to APA on Friday, MA 11 confirmed that the two teachers were under investigation and a decision was made to temporarily suspend them.
“There is no danger to other children”
„The facility is open from Monday to Friday. The spokesperson of the institution assured the parents by saying “There is no danger to other children” and announced that the two educators will no longer be allowed to work with children until the allegations are clarified. The spokesman said that children were punished by “slapping their buttocks” and that there were allegations of beatings.
It was learned that the Competence Center Responsible for Child Protection and Basic Education is currently working on a report to be submitted to the prosecutor’s office, and the allegations are also being investigated by the police.
