Violent demonstration in the Geula neighborhood of Jerusalem: Hundreds of followers of Toldot Avraham Yitzhak came to Malkei Israel Street this evening (Sunday) to demonstrate against the owner of a cell phone store, because they claim that he does not have the ‘kosher’ of the ‘Rabbinical Committee for Communications’.

The Hasidim first gathered in Zofnik Square in the Mea Shearim neighborhood, and after listening to protest speeches, marched toward the store.

Police forces were conducted towards the demonstration.

Shortly after the protest began at the site, dozens of extremists began violently violating public order, blocking the traffic lane.

They later damaged a shop on the spot, when they broke the windows, attacked police officers and damaged a police car.

After a dispersal order was issued by a police officer and the disturbances of the extremists continued, police forces have so far arrested three suspects for causing damage and disturbing public order.

Following the violence of the extremists, two policemen were injured, who received medical treatment at the scene.

“The police continue to operate at the scene even at this time to disperse the violent disturbance and arrest lawbreakers,” the police statement said.
