A domestic confrontation ended in tragedy this Wednesday morning when Christian Rueda, 26, was shot dead at his ex-girlfriend’s residence in Hialeah.

Local police responded to the crime scene where a man was reportedly killed in a shootout, whose gun was allegedly fired by the woman’s current partner.

According to Eddie Rodríguez, spokesperson for the Hialeah Police Department, he recounted the events that led to the fatal outcome, identifying those involved as Victoria Marie González, 25, and her friend Omar Jamal Huggins, 23, who were at the residence when Her ex-boyfriend, Christian Rueda, arrived home “uninvited.”

It was reported that Rueda confronted Huggins and began attacking him. That’s when Huggins informed Rueda of his possession of a gun, which led to a more severe dispute.

The incident quickly escalated when Rueda attempted to take the gun from Huggins, who was legally carrying it concealed.

During the struggle, the gun went off, hitting Rueda’s body, leaving him seriously injured, until he finally lost his life.

Huggins and González were taken to the police headquarters to be questioned by security agencies.

“They cooperated fully with the investigation and it was determined that this was a case of self-defense and therefore a justifiable shooting.”stated the official, so everything seems to indicate that neither Huggins nor González will have to pay any type of penalty.
