CURRITUCK COUNTY, N.C. – The Eagle Creek Golf Club & Grill in Moyock, N.C. saw an impressive turnout on Saturday afternoon as hundreds of people gathered to witness a live performance by viral sensation Oliver Anthony.
Anthony, whose popularity skyrocketed after a YouTube video of him singing “Rich Men North of Richmond” went viral with over 24 million views, has been creating quite a buzz in the music industry. The song, seemingly critical of politicians, quickly rose to the top spot on iTunes and secured the 41st position on Spotify charts as of Saturday afternoon.
Just recently, Anthony delighted fans with a show at Morris Farm Market in Currituck County, as captured in a YouTube video by Outer Banks Adventures.
Originally scheduled to take place at the waterfront venue of Currituck Trading Post in Maple, the concert was relocated to the Eagle Creek Golf Club to accommodate the overwhelming demand. According to WOBX, the decision was made to move the event due to the expected larger crowd at the golf club.
In a Facebook post, the golf club affirmed that Anthony’s performance would be held between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., allowing attendees to enjoy an afternoon filled with remarkable music.
