Mumbai: There are two opinions on the removal of Virat Kohli from the ODI team. There are those who say it’s a good decision and there are those who argue that Kohli should continue. Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal is among those who say Kohli should have stayed. He has been widely criticized. Madan Lal also speaks against BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.
Madan Lal’s question was why he was replaced if Kohli was giving good results. “I thought Kohli would lead India to the 2023 World Cup in India. If Kohli has a good record then why replace him? It’s definitely going to hurt if you’ve been knocked out despite being a winner. It’s very difficult to mold a team, but it can be easily broken, ” he said.
Madanlal spoke harshly against Ganguly. “I do not agree with BCCI President Sourav Ganguly’s that two different captains are not possible in fixed overs cricket. He does not think it will backfire on the Indian players as they have already played under different captains and their style. It is not right that there are different captains in ODIs and T20s and there will be confusion among the players, ”said Madan Lal.
The BCCI announced in a press release yesterday that Rohit has been made the captain of the ODI team. Rohit was also brought in as the vice-captain of the Test team. Kohli is the captain.
