jpnn.com – JAKARTA – Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk idolizes Barcelona legend Ronaldinho. Because, he feels he has the same football background as Ronaldinho.
The Dutch National Team player said that he and Ronaldinho both started their football activities on the streets.
“He is my idol,” said van Dijk as quoted from Liverpool’s official website in Jakarta, Thursday (15/8).
According to van Dijk, street football made him like various tricks, like Ronaldinho often did on the field.
“When I was young, I also did those tricks,” said the 33-year-old.
Ronaldinho is a retired Brazilian footballer who made his name at the Spanish giant club, Barcelona.
At Barcelona, he won one European Champions League title, two Spanish La Liga titles and two Spanish Super Cups.
While at the Brazilian national team, Ronaldinho led his team to win the 2022 World Cup, the 1999 Copa America and the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup.
