Between previews and meetings with directors, films in competition and round tables (all free subject to availability, with screenings also in streaming on the event website), the calendar winds around three locations, the Litta theater, the Eliseo cinema and the Science Museum. and technology: the latter space will launch a new section dedicated to virtual reality, in an ever wider effort to tell reality while keeping an eye on the future. “Documentaries have an impact on consciences and in today’s situation, more unstable than a few years ago, their function is even more important – he recalled. “Visions from the world” opens with one of the works out of competition, “Two with», Dedicated to the life and successes of the Abbagnale brothers (who will be present at the screening): directed by Felice Valerio Bagnato and Gianluca De Martino, the work reconstructs the history of the two Olympic rowing champions and is the final result of a project presented some year ago right at the festival.
It remains in the sports field with the guest of honor of the edition, the producer Domenico Procaccihere as a director, who will participate in a meeting scheduled for Saturday 17 with Maurizio Nichettiartistic director of the festival: having approached directing thanks to his passion for tennis, Procacci will present the feature film «A team”film version of the homonymous docuseries.
On the competition front, they are 36 previews arriving in Milan, divided into different sections: Italian Competition, with 10 titles that move around current issues such as youth discomfort and the suburbs (“Rozzano 20089”), punishment and rehabilitation (“Dead weight“) Or getting close to nature (“Grafts »). There are two days of events on the calendar dedicated to the sector (Meet section), which brings together authors and producers, between round tables and speed dates.
