Virtus rival, Nissan Versa 2023 is more equipped and cheaper; see the test of the R7 – News

by time news

Nissan launched the 2023 line of the Versa, which gained new equipment, but kept the look and 1.6 liter aspirated flex engine of 113hp. Unlike the new Volkswagen Virtus, the Japanese sedan has a more conservative ride, but it doesn’t leave anything to be desired. The model is sold for BRL 100,190 in the Sense CVT version, which is a little cheaper, and for BRL 109,370 in the Advance CVT configuration. Finally, Exclusive CVT is sold for R$ 121,690 with no change in value. See the evaluation of the R7 Autos Carros, which drove almost 200 km between the capital of São Paulo and Ibiúna, in São Paulo, with the Nissan Versa 2023.

The compact sedan market is heated with the launch of the new Volkswagen Virtus, with the Fiat Cronos, which recently gained CVT transmission, with the arrival of the Honda City and, finally, with the possible arrival of the new Toyota Yaris, which has already been registered in Brazil. Not to mention the leader Chevrolet Onix Plus and also the Hyundai HB20S. Well, with so many competitors, Nissan presented the Versa 2023 line without many changes, but with new equipment.

At the wheel

In practice, the Nissan Versa 2023 maintained a conservative guide. That is, do not expect sportiness from the sedan, which even has a current look, even if it has not actually been updated with the model already available in Mexico and the USA. The aspirated 1.6-liter engine, which delivers up to 113 hp with torque of up to 15.3 kgfm, leaves nothing to be desired when taking off and restarting. But a turbo engine would certainly make it more fun.

There is no longer a version with a manual transmission. Now, whoever buys it will only have the CVT automatic transmission, which simulates six gears. The transmission matches well with the already known aspirated engine, which also equips the Kicks. However, it is noisy on restarts and due to the low torque it requires attention and patience, something natural in CVT-type exchanges.

Regarding consumption, with gasoline the Versa 2023 can do 11.5 km / l in the city and up to 14.6 km / l on the road. Those who supply with ethanol will have a performance of 7.9 km/l in the urban section and 10.2 km/l in the road section.

The Nissan Versa 2023 measures 4.49 meters in length, 2.62 meters in wheelbase, which makes it comfortable for passengers sitting in the rear seats, 1.74 meters in width and 1.46 meters in height. The trunk can take up to 482 liters, an enviable level compared to competitors.

The suspension is soft, but also has a calibration made to withstand the bumpy streets of Brazil, which gives robustness and comfort to passengers. Also, the driver’s position with the “zero gravity” seat is good, even if you spend a long time standing still in traffic, not bothering your back and lumbar.

The 7-inch multimedia center is connected to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, although it has buttons and resembles models from the beginning of the decade, the accessory works well without crashes, delivering the basics of technology with smartphone connectivity.

The internal finish resembles that of the Kicks, which is not displeasing, but an update would make the Nissan Versa 2023 more modern. Including the updated version with the most current design sold in Mexico, the brand reported that it already has plans to bring it to Brazil. However, he did not say when he intends to launch it here.

Equipment

The new Nissan Versa 2023 has blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, 360 vision, rear seat object alert, front collision alert, Isofix system, electronic stability control, six airbags, traction control, distribution electronic braking, ABS brakes, braking assistance, induction charger (in the Exclusive version), auxiliary light (in the Sense version), intelligent key, 7-inch TFT instrument panel, digital automatic air conditioning, 16 or 17 inches, among others.

In a crowded world, the Versa transits between the sedans of Japanese brands such as Honda City sedan, a reference in sales, as well as the Toyota Yaris as well as the previously mentioned recently renovated Virtus, the HB20S and the leader Onix Plus. With prices maintained and a discount on the entry version, the Versa remains a good option in the universe of three volumes.
