Virudhunagar gang rape: Sudden turn in Virudhunagar gang rape case! – man accused of gang raping a girl in virudhunagar has filed a bail petition in srivilliputhur court

Eight people, including Hariharan, Junath Ahmed, Madasamy, Praveen and four other school students, were arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a 22-year-old girl in Virudhunagar. The incident has shocked Tamil Nadu.

The case was handed over to the CPCIT officials yesterday evening. The CBCID police have registered fresh cases under 7 sections against the 8 persons arrested following that.

This morning at the Virudhunagar CPCIT office, the CPCIT SP held consultations with DSPs Saravanan and Special Investigation Officer Vinodini.

Following this, the police are planning to take into custody and interrogate 4 persons including Hariharan who were arrested and imprisoned in this case and 4 boys who were detained at the Kurnokku home in Ramanathapuram.

Madasamy, the third accused in the case, has filed a bail application in the Srivilliputhur Prevention of Torture Court. The trial on this bail is expected to come soon.
