Cyber crime police are investigating the cell phones used by the persons arrested in the Virudhunagar sex case, including laptops.
The cyber crime unit is conducting a search of the homes of 8 persons arrested in a teenage sex case in Virudhunagar for more than 7 hours after the CBCID police seized cell phones and laptops.

On March 22, Virudhunagar police arrested eight people, including four school children, in connection with the rape of a teenager in Virudhunagar. The case was transferred to the CPCIT police a few days ago.
The CPCIT police went in 5 teams and carried out the check. Also, their parents were questioned by the CPCIT police. The CPCIT police conducted a search of the house of 8 persons arrested in this case and are actively searching for items including their used mobile phones and laptops. Also, the CBCID police are conducting a serious investigation into the WhatsApp account on their cell phone.

The victim was further questioned by the CPCIT police on the 2nd day. Also, the cyber crime police seized clues at the homes of the arrested persons and the places where the sexual abuse took place. The CBCID police are investigating as to who and when the video and photos recorded in connection with the sexual assault incident were shared and who the persons involved were.
