Florida: The last two matches of the West Indies-India T20 (West Indies vs India T20Is) cricket series have been confirmed to be held in Florida as scheduled. The players were allowed to travel to the United States. These matches were uncertain due to delays in American visas. The remaining T20 matches will be played in Florida on August 6 and 7.
The journey of some of the players and support staff of both the teams was uncertain for two days due to non-receipt of visas. 14 members of the Indian team were not granted visa. After the third T20 in St. Kitts, those who did not get visas went to the US Embassy in Georgetown, Guyana for visa interviews. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid were in this group. Cricbus reports that the travel problem of the teams was finally resolved after the intervention of the President of Guyana. The West Indies Cricket Board chief thanked the President of Guyana for his diplomatic intervention.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, Ravi Bishnoi, Suryakumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav have reached Miami. They will join the Indian squad by tonight.
After winning the third T20I by seven wickets, India lead the five-match series 2-1. Batting first after losing the toss, West Indies scored 164 runs for the loss of five wickets thanks to Kyle Myers’ (73) half-century. In reply, India overcame the target with the loss of just three wickets in 19 overs. Suryakumar Yadav scored 76 runs off 44 balls to lead India to victory. Suryakumar’s innings included eight fours and four sixes. Shreyas Iyer scored 24 and Rishabh Pant scored 33*. Rohit Sharma retired with 11 runs due to injury.
