The areas of Viseu, Aveiro and Coimbra will be under orange warning on Sunday due to the forecast of heavy and continuous rain. According to the Portuguese Maritime and Atmospheric Institute (IPMA), the warning in these three areas will be in force between 6am and 3pm on Sunday, and a yellow warning for the same weather conditions, between 3am and 6am.
For the districts of Bragança, Guarda, Santarém, Leiria and Castelo Branco, the IPMA has issued a yellow warning, also due to the possibility of heavy and continuous rain, which will be in effect between 3pm and 9pm on Sunday. In the case of Guarda and Bragança, the periods of greatest concern are between 12pm and 6pm and between 6am and 3pm, respectively.
The other areas affected by weather forecasts are under yellow warning from this Saturday, such as Porto and Vila Real (between 9pm and 3pm on Sunday), and Viana do Castelo and Braga (from 6pm to 12pm).
IPMA issues the orange warning whenever there is a meteorological situation of moderate to high risk and the yellow warning when there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.
For this Saturday, the IPMA forecast points to periods of rain, especially in the northern and central regions, sometimes heavy in Minho and Douro Litoral from the end of the afternoon, with strong wind and mist or fog.
On the continent, the minimum temperatures will be between 11ºC in Bragança and 13ºC in Guarda, and the maximum temperatures will be between 19ºC in Viana do Castelo and 28ºC in Santarém, Évora and Faro.
