Noting that they always maintain good relations with the Motherland Turkey, President Tatar stated that the independence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people and the TRNC will be maintained through two-state politics.

Reminding that the 104th anniversary of the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day was celebrated, Tatar emphasized that Atatürk lit the torch of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey with the War of Independence on the day he landed in Samsun on 19 May 1919. .

President Tatar said that the Turkish Cypriots, with the inspiration and power they received from Atatürk, took firm steps forward on the path he showed and came to the establishment of the TRNC, and that the struggle for independence and freedom continued.

Tatar continued:

“The Turkish Cypriot, Greek-Greek duo will continue to exist against Enosis and EOKA. As the TRNC State, we are pleased that the Turkish Cypriot people, who resisted under the shadow of our glorious flags and with the price paid, with the dimension of security issues that are closely related to the Republic of Turkey, in this region where natural resources exist in the Eastern Mediterranean, and that the struggle continues with this understanding.

Thank you to our brothers and sisters who stood by us in our glorious struggle. Our cause is sacred. We will continue our struggle for this path to lead to salvation.

TRNC can stand on its own feet with its economy, tourism, education, water and electricity projects. Significant progress has been made in every sector. It is the duty of all of us to ensure that the youth can look to the future with hope through institutions, organizations and a stronger structure.

The Republic of Türkiye has always been with us and will continue to be with us. President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, emphasizes that the TRNC should be recognized at every opportunity.
