Vivo has launched the iQOO Z7i with a new Media-Tech entry-level processor

Vivo has launched a new phone under its ‘young’ iQOO brand. The new phone, iQOO Z7i, is the first to incorporate the Dimensity 6020 processor, MediaTek’s new mid-market processor – and this is not the first time that Vivo has launched a phone with a new processor from this chipmaker before everyone else.

Dimensity 6020 is manufactured with 7 nanometer lithography and of course offers 5G capabilities. It has two powerful Cortex-A76-based processing cores with a maximum speed of 2.2 GHz and six efficient Cortex-A55-based cores with a maximum speed of 2 GHz. The graphics chip is Mali-G57.

This processor is designed for building cost-effective devices. This means support for LPDDR4x memories and the somewhat outdated UFS 2.2 for storage. In terms of photography, it supports cameras up to 64 megapixels, and in terms of screen up to FHD + with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The Z7i doesn’t even take advantage of that. Its screen is a 6.51-inch LCD with only 720p resolution. The storage is 128 gigabytes expandable, along with 4, 6 or 8 gigabytes of working memory. On the back is one 13 megapixel camera and the second 2 megapixel macro camera. In front of the selfie sensor 5 megapixels.

The battery has a working capacity of 5,000 mAh and supports a charging power of 15 watts. The operating system is Android 13. Basic price about 135 dollars. Start of sale next week.
