Vivo has officially revealed the camera specifications for its X500 series, set to launch in China in September 2026.
Vivo’s upcoming X500 series, comprising the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, is set to launch in China this September, skipping the X400 due to tetraphobia, a cultural aversion to the number four in parts of East Asia. The company has officially confirmed the camera specifications for the standard X500 and Pro models, with the Pro Max’s hardware drawing particular attention for its advanced imaging capabilities.
Camera Innovations: From 50MP to 200MP
The standard X500 will feature a 50MP 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT-828 sensor, inherited from the X300 Pro, paired with ZEISS gimbal-level stabilization and a CIPA 5.5 rating. The X500 Pro will use a 64MP Sony LYT-610 sensor for its telephoto lens, also with CIPA 5.5 stabilization and 4K 120fps video recording. The X500 Pro Max, however, stands out with a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP0 sensor, offering an 85mm focal length and support for a 400mm teleconverter. This setup, described as Super Dynamic Zeiss,
includes a 3-degree gimbal stabilization system, twice the range of the X300 Ultra’s periscope lens, according to Gsmarena.
Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao confirmed the Pro Max’s 3-degree gimbal stabilization during a Weibo announcement, emphasizing its role in improving low-light photography by allowing longer shutter speeds. Meanwhile, the X500 Pro will forgo the 3-degree gimbal but retain a 64MP telephoto lens with CIPA 7.0 stabilization, as noted in Notebookcheck.
Video Capabilities and Stabilization
Vivo is pushing the X500 series as a camera-focused flagship, with the Pro models supporting 4K 240fps video recording and 4K 120fps HDR. The Pro Max’s main camera also enables 4K 960fps video via frame interpolation, a feature highlighted in a Notebookcheck report.
The stabilization systems vary across models. The compact X500 Pro will have a 6.37-inch display, while the standard X500 is rumored to have a 6.37-inch screen. The Pro Max’s design includes a large centered circular camera island,

Market Availability and Pricing
Vivo has not yet announced global availability, but the X500 Pro Max is already listed on Indonesia’s SDPPI database with the model number V2610, suggesting a potential international rollout. The X500 Ultra, which was expected to be part of the lineup, may not launch due to rising memory costs, as noted in 91mobiles.
Local markets like Kenya have seen previous X-series models, with the X300 Pro priced at KES 169,999. The standard X500 and X500 Pro are likely to be the first models available in India, according to 91mobiles.
