Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro+ spotted on BIS; India launch may be imminent

The Vivo X80 series is expected to arrive in China in the coming weeks. A global rollout is expected to follow soon. Now, the two phones from the Vivo X80 lineup have been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website, which suggests that its launch in India may be approaching as well. The base Vivo X80 and the high-end Vivo X80 Pro+ can be equipped with the new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC paired with the Mali G70 GPU.

The supposed BIS listing was spotted by 91Mobile, which refers to two Vivo devices with model number V2144 and V2145. The former is believed to be the base Vivo X80 with the latter being the Vivo X80 Pro+. There has not been much information regarding the Vivo X80 Pro. Moreover, the company has not officially revealed these smartphones yet.

Vivo X80 specifications (rumoured)

Previous reports indicated some key specifications of the Vivo X80. As mentioned earlier, it is believed to be powered by the Dimensity 9000 SoC paired with the Mali G70 GPU. There may be 8 GB of RAM and 12 GB of RAM at launch. Vivo X80 could feature a 6.78-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It tends to pack 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage on board.

In terms of optics, the phone is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup that is highlighted by the 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor. There could also be two secondary sensors of 13 MP and 12 MP on the back. On the front, it can be equipped with a 44-megapixel selfie camera. The phone is believed to have two gaming-oriented features, such as an X-axis linear actuator for haptic feedback. The phone is also supposed to have a 4,000 square mm chamber for better heat dissipation.
