Vizela Faces Tough Challenge in Pre-Season Loss to Real Madrid Castilla

by time news

Vizela suffered defeat in their last pre-season match against Real Madrid Castilla (4-1). The team led by Rubén de La Barrera has already presented a starting eleven for their upcoming championship opener against U. Leiria.
The match, held in the village of Viveiro, part of the Lugo province in Spain, started better for the Merengues, who pressed and created several opportunities right away. However, the Vizela players managed to hold out until the 41st minute when Borja Alonso opened the scoring. The advantage would be extended before halftime by Víctor Muñoz in the 44th minute.

However, Vizela made some changes and came back with a different spirit for the second half, pushing forward and scoring in the 58th minute, through the debut of new signing Uros Milovanovic, who was already part of the eleven launched by Rubén de La Barrera. The Serbian gave hope to the 2nd Division side, but it did not last long, as Real Madrid Castilla struck again in the 66th minute through Loren Zuñiga.

The 21-year-old forward would actually score again in the 71st minute, solidifying the result at 4-1, a lead that the whites maintained until the final whistle. Vizela now returns to Portugal, where they will have a period of rest to begin preparations for their debut in Liga MeuSuper, where they will play on Sunday, August 11.
