TORONTO — Vladimir Guerrero Jr. reached base four times and drove in two runs, Yusei Kikuchi earned his first win of the season and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees 5-4 on Tuesday, who suffered their third consecutive loss.

Bo Bichette had an RBI single and Justin Turner added a sacrifice fly for Toronto, which became the first opponent to win a series against the Yankees this year.

New York had won its first five series, something it had never achieved in history. His record had equaled his best starts to the campaign (1926 and 2010).

Dominican Guerrero went 2 for 3 with two walks and a pair of singles.

Blue Jays left fielder Davis Schneider dove to catch Anthony Rizzo’s fly ball for the final out of the sixth inning, stranding a runner at first.

Rizzo was frustrated again when Daulton Varsho lunged for his line drive to left field at the start of the ninth inning.

Kikuchi (1-1) allowed one run and three hits in six innings, with one walk and nine strikeouts.

The defeat was for Carlos Rodón (1-1).

For the Yankees, the Dominican Juan Soto is 4-1. Venezuelans Gleyber Torres 1-0 with two runs scored, Oswaldo Cabrera 3-1. Mexican Alex Verdugo went 2-for-4 with one run scored.
