This is a fashion faux pas of a different kind…
Actually, New York Fashion Week is YOUR most important event of the year. But this year something came up for the infamous “Vogue” boss Anna Wintour (73). The fashion goddess had to leave the city before the end of fashion week – causing a huge mess in the fashion industry…
As every year, the who’s who of the fashion industry met in New York from September 7th to 13th. Brands like Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren presented their latest creations and of course wanted to be seen by the press – and especially by Anna Wintour.
It’s just a shame that DIE ran away…

Wintour had more important things to do this year
As expected, La Wintour sat in the front row for the first few days next to stars like Jennifer Lopez (54), Halle Berry (57) and Blake Lively (36).
But as the American magazine “Page Six” reports, the head of the fashion bible “Vogue” had more important things to do afterwards. She left the city at the weekend to fly to England. The shows continued until Wednesday.

The reason: Vogue’s own event in London. The magazine hosted “Vogue World” there for the second time. A mega event that opens fashion week in London.
Wintour apparently even persuaded super designer Michael Kors (64) to bring his show forward because some of his models were supposed to walk down the catwalk in England…

An event on our own behalf. But the New York fashion scene found her sudden departure anything but trés chique. Apparently she “caused huge devastation” as a result, according to the magazine.
The designers really wanted to be seen by Anna. Night shifts were spent sewing, embroidering and organizing under pressure – just so they could show their collections to the fashion goddess. Because anyone who is mentioned in “Vogue” is guaranteed success.
According to a fashion insider, the designers “had to scramble and finalize their designs days in advance.” At least Anna Wintour took the time to watch it privately.

“It was extremely stressful as most collections are only finished at the last minute,” said the insider. “The whole event devastated Fashion Week.”
Apparently it was the first time in over 30 years that the journalist skipped parts of fashion week.
After all: According to the New York Times, Wintour spoke to the designers before Fashion Week and explained why she would miss the shows.
