Voice of the People Party demands the expulsion of the European Union Ambassador

The Libyan Voice of the People Party called on the head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, to take immediate action to expel the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, stressing that the latter has crossed all boundaries and has become an unwelcome person in Libya.

In a statement obtained by “Ain Libya”, the party announced its condemnation of the statements of the European Union Ambassador to Libya regarding the children of illegal immigrants.

The party stressed in its statement that the ambassador’s country, Italy, and the European Union countries are responsible for these children, and demanded that they be taken to their countries and settled in their foster homes.

The party added: “You are the ones who plundered their wealth, killed their grandfathers, and made their fathers die of hunger and thirst in the desert.”

The statement also stressed that the EU ambassador’s (crude) attempt to impose the Italian government’s dictates to settle illegal immigrants here will not be accepted.

In its statement, the party also demanded that the Government of National Unity not agree to the settlement of children of illegal immigrants in Libya in Libyan care homes, because if this were to happen under the government, it would be the first step towards demographic change in Libya.

The Voice of the People Party called on the European Union Commission to quickly replace this ambassador who has gone beyond all limits of diplomatic etiquette and respect and who lacks the minimum requirements of professional and diplomatic experience because his continuation in his position will inevitably lead to a serious deterioration in the relationship between the Libyan people and the European Union.

The party concluded its statement by stressing that Libya is not forced to be a guardian of Europe and pay the price for its hateful colonial past towards African countries.
