The “Tso Pius” team of MS Pardes Hana/Karkur hosted Hapoel Gilboa for a league game yesterday. In the ranks of the host group, they chose to celebrate breast cancer awareness month. Before the game, the team took a picture with a pink shirt, for the game itself the team’s players came up with a pink ribbon attached to their shirt, to express support in the fight against the serious disease.
A fascinating game developed on the field. Despite Gilboa’s dominance, the host team went into the halftime break with a 0:1 lead, from a goal scored by Amit Cohen with a free kick.
In the second half, Uri Yosef entered the field of play in the ranks of the Gilboa, who helped bring the turning point with a pair of turnaround goals that he scored: the brother with an impressive kick to the connections and from there to the crossbar and the net and the second with a penalty kick, about 12 minutes to the end. Two minutes before the end of the game, the referee of the game decided to rule on a foul against Gilboa on the grounds of raising his leg high. The free kick was converted by Ziv Benisti into a goal that determined the result of the game – a 2:2 tie, in a fascinating football game with important educational and health messages.
