The brand has revealed a preview of the most powerful edition of the sports variant of the hatchback. In a video posted on its social networks, Volkswagen announced that it will launch a special and limited production version of the Golf R, called “333”.
Until now, the German brand has threatened several times to produce more powerful versions of the Golf, but all of them have come to nothing. To date, the most powerful version is the Golf R 20 Years Edition. Which produces 333 hp and not produced in limited numbers, but also sold in just a few markets.

Volkswagen Golf R333
The new R 333 replicates several of the tricks of the model presented in mid-2022. From the power, we have the idea that it should have the same 2.0L Turbo engine, with 333 hp and 420 Nm of torque, and work with a transmission Seven-speed DSG and a 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
In the preview, we can also see black 19-inch Estoril wheels, blue calipers and an Akrapovic exhaust system. So far, it appears to be the same model as the anniversary model, only in a striking yellow color.
That’s about all that’s known about the model, other than the fact that it won’t be designed around the future Golf facelift.
However, the truth is, if they really wanted to make something special, they could add a few extra elements. Like a sportier suspension, stronger brakes, more rigidity, something that would allow them to get more out of those 333 hp.
Perhaps presented on May 31, when Volkswagen will show the Golf R 333 in its full size.
