State Duma Chairman Viacheslav Volodin noted the need to return to the issues of price stabilization against the background of rising inflation in Russia, reports TASS.
“There is a need to return to these issues unequivocally, because these topics should be under constant control. We cannot consider them once a year, because everything changes, especially if we see that there are such preconditions, ”Volodin said.
At the same time, the speaker of the State Duma noted the need to improve the efficiency of the economy. “We all understand that the economy must work more efficiently. And for this it is necessary to create conditions, ”he said.
“We must, together with the government, try to do everything so that every social group that feels the problem receives help and support,” Volodin said.
Earlier today, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade raised the inflation forecast for 2021 – from 5.8 to 7.4%. The main reason for this was the acceleration of food inflation. As the head of the department Maxim Reshetnikov explained, the main problems are on the supply side.
Food inflation accelerated primarily due to the rise in prices for fruits and vegetables associated with a significant lag in the pace of harvesting due to weather conditions and a shortage of labor in a number of regions under quarantine restrictions, Reshetnikov said. Monetary components of inflation – non-food products, services – are gradually stabilizing, he added.
