Motiur Rahman, the Revenue Officer (later attached to the Internal Resources Department) who was discussed in the goat scandal, is voluntarily retiring from government service without financial benefits. He will retire on August 29.

This information was informed in a notification issued by the Department of Internal Resources (Customs-1 Branch) of the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday (July 31). Deputy Secretary Mokima Begum signed the notification by order of the President.

As per his application on completion of 25 years of service, as per section-44(1) and section 51 of the Public Service Act, 2018, retirement (optional) without retirement financial benefits (retirement leave, lump grant and pension) from government service on 29th August 2024. done

It is to be noted that before the last Qurbani Eid, Efat, the son of former National Board of Revenue (NBR) officer Matiur Rahman, started a discussion when he bought a goat for Qurbani from the capital Sadek Agro for Tk 15 lakh. However, in the beginning, Motiur Rahman did not identify Efat as his son. Later, Member of Parliament of Feni-2 Constituency Nizam Uddin Hazari said that Ifat is the son of his cousin. And Matiur Rahman is his father.

After this incident he was removed from the post of NBR. Sonali Bank was also removed from the directorship. Apart from this, the court has also seized the property of Matiur Rahman in different places.
