Volvo Trucks announced on the 22nd that it has received an order for 1,500 Volvo FH Aero trucks from Italian transport company Ranuti Group.
The Ranuti Group has ordered 1,500 Volvo FH Aero trucks to replace some of its 2,500 long-haul logistics trucks operating in eight European countries.
“We at the Ranuti Group want to protect drivers and all other road users by giving priority to vehicles that offer low emissions as well as a high level of driver comfort and safety,” said Walter Ranuti, CEO of the Ranuti Group. “In addition to Volvo Trucks’ fuel-saving I-Save technology, which is fitted on all our new orders, we want to maximise the benefits gained from safety-enhancing camera monitor systems and improved aerodynamic design.”
Most of the Volvo trucks ordered by Ranuti will run on hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO), a fuel that can be produced from waste, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by up to 90 percent.
The Volvo FH Aero will be delivered sequentially to the Ranuti Group over the course of this year and next year.
“This contract is a testament to the trust that Ranuti has built with Volvo Trucks as a long-standing business partner,” said Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks. “The Volvo FH Aero is one of the most competitive truck models that not only reduces customers’ fuel costs and CO2 emissions, but also makes driving safer for drivers.”Reporter Jeong Jin-su, Donga.com [email protected]
