Regional authorities will try not to introduce QR codes for transport in the Moscow region at the current rates of vaccination. This was announced on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24” by the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov.

“We considered this possibility [введения QR-кодов для общественного транспорта], but with this level of vaccination, we will try very hard not to cause additional trouble for our residents, ”he said.

According to him, QR codes are used in the Moscow region only in certain places; the expansion of these zones is not yet planned. He believes that people need to be convinced to get vaccinated and to be careful on public transport. “I hope we have overcome this mistrust, these doubts,” he added.

Vorobyov expects that from 1.5 million to 2 million people will be vaccinated in the Moscow region by July.
