The national coach no longer wants to hear the controversial issue of the late dismissal of the Bayern players in preparation for the World Cup.
National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg asked at the media day of the German footballers to leave out the controversial subject FC Bayern.
“I have a request that really comes from the heart,” said the 55-year-old to the journalists in Herzogenaurach on Monday: “The transfer of the players from FC Bayern Munich should no longer be discussed”.
The five Munich internationals Lea Schüller, Klara Bühl, Lina Magull, Carolin Simon and Sydney Lohmann only arrived in Herzogenaurach three days after the start of preparations for the World Cup (July 20 to August 20) in Australia and New Zealand. The German champion had insisted.

FC Bayern’s actions had been met with great anger weeks ago by the German Football Association, which had accused Munich of breaking their word. Among other things, Bayern referred to a recommendation from the European Club Association ECA for the release and the health of the players.
Due to the later arrival, Voss-Tecklenburg also decided not to play the Bayern aces in the disappointing 2-1 win against Vietnam last Saturday in the international test match in Offenbach. “Ask sporting questions, ask emotional questions, ask personal questions,” said the national coach to the media representatives. “We don’t want to waste energy on questions that look back.”
Nevertheless, Magull pointed out that the Munich women, like all other World Cup candidates, had individual fitness plans with them on vacation. “I don’t have the feeling that we are behind,” said her teammate Bühl, referring to her fitness. (dpa)
