VR Resources: Nevada Copper-Gold Exploration Begins at Bonita Project

(Nevada, January 27, 2026) –

VR Resources Limited has contracted DIAS Geophysical Ltd. to conduct a 3D survey at its Bonita porphyry copper-gold project in Nevada, building on a prior working relationship.

  • VR Resources Limited and DIAS Geophysical Ltd. have agreed to a terrestrial DCIP survey at the Copper Queen target.
  • The survey will utilize DIAS32 technology, a 3D matrix IP and resistivity system.
  • This collaboration builds on previous successful surveys conducted by the two companies in Nevada and Ontario.

VR Resources Limited has contracted and begun field planning with DIAS Geophysical Ltd. for a 3D matrix IP and resistivity survey at the Copper Queen target within the Bonita porphyry copper-gold project in Nevada, the company said. The survey will employ DIAS Geophysical’s DIAS32 technology, a terrestrial DCIP (direct current induced polarization) system.

the proposal and geophysical agreement were finalized last autumn, according to VR Resources. This isn’t the first time the two companies have worked together; VR Resources said it has previously collaborated with DIAS on three surveys across three other properties in Nevada, as well as at the Silverback project in Ontario.

Did you know? – Porphyry deposits are responsible for a significant portion of the world’s copper production, often hosting large ore bodies. Nevada is a key copper exploration region.

Background and Context

Porphyry copper deposits are a major source of copper globally, formed from large volumes of magma intruding into the Earth’s crust. Exploration for these deposits frequently enough involves geophysical surveys, such as DCIP,to map subsurface electrical properties that can indicate the presence of mineralization. The Bonita project is located in a region of Nevada known for its potential for porphyry copper-gold systems.

That prior experience and established relationship between VR Resources and DIAS Geophysical formed the basis for optimizing the survey design for the Copper Queen target, the company said.

Pro tip – DCIP surveys measure how electrical current flows through the ground. Variations can indicate the presence of metallic minerals like copper and gold.

Why It Matters

The use of advanced geophysical techniques like DIAS32’s 3D matrix IP and resistivity can provide a more detailed and accurate picture of the subsurface geology, potentially increasing the chances of identifying economically viable copper-gold deposits. This survey represents a key step in VR Resources’ exploration program at the Bonita project, as the company seeks to delineate the extent and grade of the Copper Queen target. Successful exploration coudl lead to resource definition and, ultimately, potential mine progress.
