During the Munich Security Conference, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic defiantly refused to support Alexei Navalny’s wife Yulia.

Vucic, who was seated in the front row of the hall, was the last to get up from his chair, but refused to join in the applause of everyone present after Yulia Navalny’s speech. While the others applauded, Vucic fiddled with the simultaneous interpretation headset and remained upright, local N1 television reported.

A day after the death of the Russian opponent of Vladimir Putin’s regime, Vucic said that this topic has dominated the debate about Russia, but again stopped short of condemning the Navalny tragedy in any way.

“Regarding Russia, you hear the same thing everywhere, at every turn. I heard that here at least in two meetings. This is a key topic, but to be honest, we are too small and this is our drama… But, Russia and after the death of Navalny, it is a terribly difficult situation and of course a tragedy and bad news for the whole world. For any normal person, it is terrible when they find out that someone has died for one reason or another. The investigation will find out, but in any case, this is bad news in this difficult atmosphere”. These were the only words of Aleksandar Vucic on the occasion of the death of Alexei Navalny, BGNES reported.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, for his part, called the media, which was outraged by Vucic’s behavior during the Munich Security Conference, “vultures of death.”
