The Single Window for Business Formalization (VUFE), a digital platform that aims to encourage Guatemalan MSMEs to seek formalization, offering them the possibility of carrying out the main procedures related to this process in one place, was inaugurated this Thursday . The portal is made up of five institutions and each one specifies the requirements and steps to register a company. (Mineco credit).

This new modality is promoted by the Ministry of Economy (Mineco) and seeks to attract investment, create jobs and generate new business opportunities for MSMEs and the business sector in general.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Authorities highlighted that the VUFE was born from the need to have a virtual space so that companies could have an easier time starting their formalization process, since, previously, registering a company took around 5 months and currently the process is reduced to 3 days. To register as a user, the interested party must enter and complete the information requested to navigate the portal.
Through this page, the user will be able to verify the requirements for the formalization of his company by each government entity, since the web portal will redirect him to each of the pages of the institutions to carry out the necessary procedures.
The institutions that are part of this VUFE are:
Mercantile Registry Superintendency of Tax Administration (SAT) Registry of Intellectual Property Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (Mintrab). Guatemalan Social Security Institute.
In addition, it will have the login option for the user to save the actions carried out in each institution and obtain direct contacts in each one of them to solve doubts, or make comments.
Among other features, the VUFE has international and native multi-language, and has a function to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, in the specific case of blind users.
One of the advantages offered by the page is the possibility of having a digital traceability of the history of the actions carried out in each of the participating institutions.
As they highlighted, through the formalization process, companies will be able to receive support from the State in the different programs designed for this purpose that are executed by the Ministry of Economy.
