More successes for Giulia Castelli, this time in Australia, on the Gold Coast.

This weekend, the surfers’ paradise transformed into the meeting point of the strongest wakeboard riders in the world. The appointment is important, the last stage of the Master circuit which after touching Sydney, Atlanta and Washington has landed on the Gold Coast: the Nautique WWA World Championships.

In the Rieti category, athletes from the USA and Australia.
The semi-final was played in unlikely conditions: strong wind, with gusts of up to 50km per hour and rain. The only goal for everyone is to earn a place in the final. Giulia, without exaggerating, comes second and qualifies for the next phase.
In the final the rain has passed, but the wind is still the protagonist of the competition and puts all the athletes in difficulty who are unable to express their abilities to the maximum.

The direction of the wind forces everyone to give their all in the first pass.
Giulia knows this and manages to impress the judges who, without hesitation, decree her victory; a score that leaves no doubt: 85 points for her, 63 for second (from the USA) and 54 for third (from Australia). Giulia is the new Junior Pro World Champion of the WWA circuit.

Thanks to the results of the other three stages (two first places and one second place), Giulia closes the Master circuit in first place overall in the Junior Pro World ranking, with a considerable gap from her rivals: 390 points for her, 190 for second, 165 for third .

Coach Andrea Trinchi, who accompanied her in this race, was very satisfied: “a difficult competition, with extreme weather conditions. Giulia knows her stuff and understood what she could and couldn’t do. A more than deserved first place which once again demonstrates his preparation and sporting maturity!!!”

Giulia will return to Italy on Tuesday evening, change her suitcase and then, Wednesday, travel again; this time for Palermo, where the Italian championships will be held on the weekend of 5 and 6 October.
