Walid Al-Lafi discusses in Washington plans to develop communication technologies and secure data

Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs Walid Al-Lafi and his accompanying team discussed, with the directors of the Departments of Technological Development and Communication Policies at the US Department of Commerce, a number of ICT industry programmes.

Our official government platform stated that Al-Lafi discussed, during the second day of his visit to the United States of America, plans to develop communication technologies and data security policies, in addition to cooperation between the two countries in adopting the best sustainable business practices.

The meeting was attended by senior official and policy advisor of the US Department of Commerce, Carrie Ingram, Libya officials in the North Africa and Middle East Office of the US Department of Commerce, Dominic Mack and Tom Blaubback, and a number of officials in the field of trade and communications.

In a separate meeting, Al-Lafi discussed in Washington with the Executive Director of the American School of Overseas Research (ASOR) aspects of cooperation regarding the revitalization of museums and the national project to revive and develop museums in Libya, and organizing training programs to build the capabilities of museum employees in Libya and raise their competencies.

Al-Lafi also met with the Executive Director of the Libyan American Business Organization, Lydia Gabes, and the discussion covered a number of files and ways of cooperation in the fields of economy and trade between the two countries.
