Former Al-Shorta captain Walid Salem will bid farewell to football today, Sunday, during the final match of the Iraqi Premier League.
The media department of the Police Club said in a statement received by the (INA): “Waleed Salem will announce his retirement from the stadiums during the final match of the Iraqi Premier League between the Police and Al-Zawraa teams, in which the Police will be crowned champion of the current season’s league (2023-2024).”
She added, “The player Walid Salem had a distinguished career full of titles with the Police Club, where he won five league titles and two Super Cup titles,” noting that “he will officially bid farewell to the stadiums and fans, after the approval of the Football Association, leaving behind an immortal sports legacy that lasted for years, through which he represented the national teams and Iraqi clubs.”
