The ‘Walton-Crab Sports Festival-2024’ has started today Friday (July 12, 2024) under the auspices of sports-friendly company Walton Hi-Tech Industries Plc and organized by Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB).
In the morning, the Minister of Social Welfare inaugurated the sports festival virtually. Deepu Moni, MP. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman, BPM (bar), PPM (bar) was also connected virtually at that time.
Also present were Advisor (Sports) of Walton Hitech Industries Plc F.M. Iqbal Bin Anwar (Don), Senior Deputy Executive Director Rabiul Islam Milton and General Secretary of Crabb Sirajul Islam. Crab president Kamruzzaman Khan presided over the opening ceremony. Rakibul Islam Manik, sports and cultural editor of Crab, moderated.
On the opening day, several matches of the group stage of the chess event were held.
There will be a total of 11 disciplines and events in indoor and outdoor this year. Events include – Chess, Carrom, Speed Tram, Auction Bridge, Shooting, Marathon, Ludo, Football, Volleyball, Cricket and Badminton.
Besides, Walton is arranging special prizes for ten senior members who cannot participate in this year’s sports competition. Apart from this, Ludu game is being organized for the wives of the members.
