Want new Bangladesh: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, we want a democratic new Bangladesh. We want to build the country by protecting equality and human rights.

On Monday (August 19), he said this after paying respects and praying at the shrine of the founder of BNP martyred President Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of the 44th founding anniversary of the National Volunteer Party. Mirza Fakhrul went to Zia’s shrine in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar along with leaders and activists of Nationalist Volunteers Party SM Jilani and general secretary Rajeev Ahsan.

The Secretary General of BNP said, I have prayed for the soul of martyr President Ziaur Rahman, the promoter of multi-party democracy, the shaper of prosperous Bangladesh. Today we have taken an oath that we will protect the victory that has been achieved through the movement of students.

Due to the democratic movement, measures are being taken to release those who are in prison, said Mirza Fakhrul, after the fall of the government. We extend our utmost support to the interim government that has been formed under the leadership of Yunus. We are working to strengthen the team.

He further said that today some trouble makers are trying to create new disturbances in the name of our leaders to destroy the victory of the students. To be clear, none of our leaders and activists are involved in any disturbance.

BNP Joint Secretary General Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohail, BNP Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu, Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP Member Secretary Md. Aminul Haque, the former general secretary of the volunteer group Abdul Qadir Bhuia Jewel, senior vice president of the volunteer group Yachin Ali, senior joint general secretary Saiful Islam Feroz, vice president Fakhrul Islam Robin, Dr. Central and various police station and ward committee leaders including Jahedul Kabir Zahid.
