A new museum showcasing classic films will soon be inaugurated in Abu Dhabi, officials said. This was announced at a cultural event held at the Arab World Institute in Paris by the UAE Cultural Ambassadorship of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALESCO). The program ‘Immortal Creations of Classical Cinema’ was organized by Anasi Media and Alesco.

Jack Lang, President of the Institut du Monte Arabe (IMA), said: “We are delighted that Alesco IMA has chosen to pay tribute to classic Arab cinema.” Also happy to be the UAE Cultural Ambassador who is doing remarkable work to develop arts, culture and films. ALEXO expert Dr. Ahmado Habibi said.

Abdelrahman Lahi, director of the Dar Mauritania Cultural Foundation and a UNESCO expert, explained the importance and necessity of having a museum to travel with the history of cinema. Alesco expert Dr. Ahmado Habibi said.

Lahi lectured on Arab Cinema in the Golden Age – One Hundred Years of Magic, Creativity and Complexity. He explained that the cinema of the Golden Age was the collective burial of the dreams and memories of a people. Madad Hareb Al Khaili, UAE Embassy Deputy Head of Mission Ahmed Almullah, Alaska expert Dr. Ahmedo Habibi, Aisha Kamali, Representative of the UAE to UNESCO, Afifah Sayadi, Representative of Alaska to UNESCO and ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of Arab countries attended.
