Abhay Singh Rathore, Lucknow: There is a continuous protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill. Today, i.e. 13th September, was the last day to register objections against the bill. After the Friday prayers, the Namazis have expressed their protest by scanning the QR code. In the same sequence, a large number of Namazis have expressed their protest by scanning the QR code placed outside the Aishbagh Idgah Mosque in the capital Lucknow. Let us tell you, Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali has made the Namazis aware about the Waqf Bill during the Friday prayers.

Maulana made the worshippers aware during Namaz
Imam Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali of Aishbagh Eidgah, while making the worshippers aware during the Friday prayers, said that with the proposed bill, 70 percent of the Waqf property will go into the danger zone. Maulana said that people are being mislead about the Waqf property. Rather, this property is that which our elders have donated in the name of Allah. It is used in mosques, dargahs and madrasas. No property belongs to any other religion. Due to which we have been opposing this bill from the beginning.

People expressed their protest by scanning the QR code
Regarding the protest through QR code, Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali said that the Joint Parliamentary Committee has sought opinion from the state holders and the general public regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill. Today is its last day. In this connection, a QR code has been issued by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board. Which was put up outside the mosques. Maulana said that after the Friday prayers, a large number of Namazis have scanned that QR code and sent their opinion.

Request for refund of bill
Maulana Khalid said that till yesterday evening, 1.5 crore opinions have been sent only through the QR code of the Personal Law Board. He said that since it is Friday today, a large number of opinions are expected. Maulana said that in any democracy, the public gives its opinion in this way and decisions are taken on that basis. Maulana said that such a large number of opinions have been sent. I hope that this is a religious matter of Muslims and whatever amendments have been proposed will be withdrawn.

Shia Personal Law Board wrote a letter to the JPC chairman
On Thursday, All India Shia Personal Law Board President Sai. Sayam Mehndi has written a letter to Jagdambika Pal, Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Waqf Amendment 2024. The Board Chairman said that no one has the right to amend Waqf. Waqf is done by the Muslim community (Shia-Sunni). It is a religious thing and is used for religion. He said that the Constitution of our country has given the right to do all our religious work according to our religion. Waqf also comes under this. We appeal to the central government not to make any amendment in the Waqf Bill. The Board opposes this bill, it should be withdrawn.

what is waqf

Regarding Waqf, Maulana Sai. Sayam Mehndi said that Waqf is religious and it is used only for religion. Waqf is only for good works. The person who does Waqf, does Waqf his property. Waqf land cannot be sold. Waqf Board can appoint Mutawalli as per its wish. But for this it is necessary to be a Muslim. Waqf property cannot be transferred to any other place. Waqf belongs to Muslims and amendment in it will harm Muslims. Waqf property can be given on rent but the property should not be ruined. Due to which, after amendment in Waqf, Waqf will no longer be Waqf, it will become personal property of people.
