Israel has entered a state of war this Saturday and mobilized its reservists after a wave of rocket attacks, some long-range, launched this morning by the militias of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas from the Gaza Strip, accompanied by an incursion of its troops into Israeli territory, which has left at least 300 dead and nearly 1,600 injured. The military operation has been called ‘Al Aqsa Storm’ in response to the constant “desecration” of the Esplanade of the Mosques by the Israelis as well as months of violence against the Palestinian population in West Bank. Israel’s response has not been long in coming, starting a counteroffensive that is leaving hundreds of Palestinians dead and massive bombings in retaliation for the attack.
