War in Ukraine: Europe undertakes to continue supplying Ukraine with military equipment

by time news

Ukrainian President Zelensky called on the West to provide his country with financial aid and ammunition to repel the five-and-a-half-month Russian attack.

At a conference of European defense ministers in Copenhagen, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that his country urgently needs fighter jets. The day before, satellite images showed that the Ukrainians had caused heavy damage to the base of the Russian Air Force in Crimea, and nine Russian planes had been destroyed on the ground.

Satellite images from PLANET LAB showed bomb hits at the Russian SAKI Air Base and the hits were accurate. Most of the planes caught fire in the fires that broke out on the runways and in the dugouts for the planes. Kyiv has not officially announced this action, but Reuters and AP agencies cite experts who believe the Ukrainians have acquired the ability to launch long-range missiles or rockets.

At the Defense Ministers’ Conference in Denmark, British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said that his country would send new guided missile launch systems to Ukraine, while the Danish government announced additional financial aid amounting to $113 million, for a total of $413 million.

The Faculty of Economics of Kyiv University announced that the material damage of the war has so far been estimated at 110 billion dollars, 304 bridges across Ukraine and more than 900 clinics and medical centers have been destroyed or severely damaged.
