Explosions were heard in particular in the center of kyiv. According to regional authorities, “about 40 missiles” hit the capital.

He also announced water cuts in the capital due to the bombardments as well as the stopping of the metro, since the stations serve as shelters. “Because of the damage caused to the energy infrastructure, there are interruptions in the water supply in all the districts of the capital”, specified the elected official.

“A new massive wave of Russian bombardments is targeting the energy infrastructure, facilities have already been damaged in the east and south of the country,” Energy Minister German Galouchchenko said on Facebook this Friday morning.

Several cities without electricity

The administration of Boucha, where Russian soldiers are accused of having committed atrocities during their occupation of this suburb of kyiv, announced that “anti-aircraft forces shot down an enemy missile” near the locality, without give more details.

Other cities were also affected, including Kharkiv (north-east) and Poltava (center-east). The authorities of these two localities announced that their towns were without electricity following morning bombardments.

“Without electricity (…) the heating system no longer works” in the city of Kremenchuk (Poltava region, in the center of the country), its mayor, Valéri Maletskiï, indicated on Telegram. Due to these strikes, “electric trains” running in the regions of Kharkiv, Kivograd, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk “will run with reserve locomotives”, indicated, for their part, the Ukrainian railways. Multiple strikes have also targeted the Zaporizhia region, according to its governor, Oleksandre Staroukh.

In the city of Kryvyï Rih, in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (center), a residential building was hit. According to the governor of the region, Valentyn Reznichenko, this strike left two dead and at least five wounded. On Wednesday, 13 Iranian suicide bombers had already struck kyiv and its region, according to Ukrainian forces.

For their part, the Russian occupation authorities of the Ukrainian region of Luhansk (east) accused the Ukrainian forces of artillery fire on two localities this Friday morning, killing eight and wounding 23.
