War in Ukraine | Trudeau will meet with top Polish leaders on Thursday

(Berlin) Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is due to travel to Warsaw, Poland on Thursday to meet with the country’s prime minister and president as the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues.

He is also expected to meet US Vice President Kamala Harris in Poland in the evening to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

This will be Trudeau’s last stop on a four-country European tour this week to discuss with allies how to increase pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime.

Mr. Trudeau will first meet in the morning with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin.

He met German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday and their talks focused on the need for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and the desire to end the war without further escalation.

Prime Minister Trudeau also announced Wednesday that Canada would send an additional $50 million in specialized equipment, including Canadian-made cameras for surveillance drones, to help Ukraine defend against Russian invasion.
