Ward No. 9 and Ward No. 24 have reached the football finals of the Dhaka Mayor’s Cup Inter-Ward Sports Competition-2024. Ward No. 12 and No. 16 have reached the final of cricket.
On Wednesday (March 6) Kamlapur Birshrestha Shaheed Sepahi Mustafa Kamal Stadium football semi-final match between Ward No. 4 and Ward No. 9 and Ward No. 24 and Ward No. 73 was held. Ward No. 9 and Ward No. 24 won the game respectively. Both teams beat their opponents 2-0.
Meanwhile, on the same day, the cricket semi-final between Ward No. 2 and Ward No. 16 at Buet Central Ground and Ward No. 12 and Ward No. 66 at Golapbagh Ground was held. Ward No. 16 won the game by 7 runs and Ward No. 12 by 5 wickets respectively.
Apart from this, last Tuesday (March 5) Badminton final between Ward No. 38 and Ward No. 72 was held at Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium. In the final, Ward No. 72 defeated Ward No. 38 in 2-1 sets. Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas, Mayor of the Corporation was present in the final game of Badminton.
On Friday (March 8), the cricket final match between Ward No. 12 and Ward No. 16 will be held at 10 am at Golapbagh ground and the football final match between Ward No. 9 and Ward No. 24 will be held at Bir Shresh Shaheed Sepahi Mustafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur at 5 pm. The closing ceremony will be held after the finals.
Youth and Sports Minister Nazmul Hasan Papon will attend the closing ceremony as the chief guest. Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas will preside over the event.
