It’s a beautiful, sometimes perhaps a bit cheesy tradition that is practiced almost worldwide: On February 14th, Valentine’s Day, people tell their loved ones in different ways that he or she is very special. Preferably with a card or a bouquet of flowers, but also with a love lock, a pack of chocolate hearts or a kiss. In times of social media, of course also via messages on all possible channels. Why should triathlon professionals act differently than ordinary mortals when it comes to this custom?

Expressions of love on social media

Sam Laidlow shows us the screensaver of his smartphone today. His girlfriend Florence Paz can be seen striking a warm pose. The Ironman world champion from France thanks her for saving his love life – and his screen background.

Even a back can delight

The British Georgia Taylor-Brown surprises us on Valentine’s Day with naked facts and a powerful back tattoo. Thanks to the two-time Tokyo Olympic medalist, we see her partner, French triathlete Vincent Luis, “clothed” with only one heart.

A heart for bathrooms

And who is Daniela Kleiser sending a greeting of love to today? your swimming pool! The Munich woman, age group world champion at the Ironman 70.3 St. George in 2021 and now in her third professional season, has a sense of humor and apparently still has a few tracks to go…

Comes time, comes bike

Tamara Jewett thanked her partner Chris McKinnon via Instagram today with a heartfelt message and one of the first photos from 2014 in which the couple can be seen together. The 33-year-old Canadian writes that looking back, the ten years together “become more and more meaningful” for her. And Jewett thanks Chris for getting her on the bike in the first place. Otherwise the top runner probably wouldn’t have been able to win the Ironman 70.3 race in Oceanside last year.
