Warning Issued for 5in1 Rocker Bassinets Amid Safety Concerns and Lack of Cooperation from Distributor

Consumers who have purchased 5in1 Rocker Bassinets are being urged to discontinue use of the product due to safety concerns for infants. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for the bassinets, stating that they pose a danger to infants and do not meet the safety requirements outlined in the CPSC’s Infant Sleep Products Rule.

The 5in1 Rocker Bassinets not only pose a risk of suffocation to infants but also present a fall hazard. Additionally, the products lack required markings, labeling, and instructions. They also fail to include a tracking label on the package, which is necessary for providing important information such as the date of manufacture.

These bassinets, sold online at Walmart.com and other websites, can be identified by their green and gray color schemes. The packaging includes various markings such as “Ya.Ya.Ya, 5IN1UPC Code 09331849600139, 01 Rock Sleeper, 02 Dream Centre, 03 Cozy Seat, 04 Travel Bassinet, 05 Rock & Play, Made in China, and Age 1-36 months.”

The CPSC is advising consumers who own one of these bassinets to immediately disassemble and dispose of the product. Although the rule regarding infant sleep products applies to those manufactured after June 23, 2022, the CPSC is urging companies to halt sales of noncompliant products produced before that date.

The 5in1 Rocker Bassinets are imported by Rev Grace Import, Inc. of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. However, the company has not been cooperative with the CPSC’s recall efforts and has failed to provide any remedy for those who have purchased the bassinets.

In light of this warning, the CPSC is also reminding parents to follow safe sleep practices for infants. It is recommended that infants sleep on firm, flat surfaces in a crib, bassinet, or play yard without the presence of blankets, pillows, padded crib bumpers, or stuffed animals, except for a fitted sheet.

Furthermore, infants should always be placed on their backs for sleep. If an infant falls asleep in an inclined or upright position, they should be promptly moved to a safe sleep environment.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that parents sleep in the same room as infants for the first six months but advises against cosleeping or bedsharing with infants.

Any incidents of injury or defect related to the 5in1 Rocker Bassinets should be reported to the CPSC via the website www.SaferProducts.gov.
